I have a cold…

so there will be shortage of posts from me until I start to feel more human again.

New blog alert

While I spend today hanging out on the couch nursing a red wine induced hangover from our Australia Day celebrations last night (it’s okay, I don’t expect any sympathy), I’ve discovered a few new blogs – this one in particular caught my eye…check it out!

Be green….be black!

I don’t often do non-design/style related posts…but I couldn’t resist this one. If you aren’t already familiar with this website, check out the blackle website…please.

I’m back…

Thanks to those of you who emailed me over the last couple of days to kindly let me know that my blog was down. It actually made me feel like I might be missed if I stopped writing this blog. As you will notice, my header is missing (still working on the technical stuff) -but you should also notice that the blog address is now my own domain name, but no need to change any existing links as it should re-direct automatically. Now…back to posting!

*UPDATE* my header should now appear as normal. If anyone else out there in the blogosphere needs help redirecting their blog to a new domain name, let me know and I’ll try my best to help!

It’s Friday!

Happy Friday to everyone! It’s a long weekend here in Hong Kong, so I’m off to Macau for a few days of sitting by the pool, reading, eating and drinking too much sangria. Can’t wait!
Despite the fact that its 31 degrees here today (89 F) I just bought a beautiful wool coat, it was an absolute bargain! My husband doesn’t understand…Men! I guess probably because we very rarely get overcoat weather here…but I’m telling myself its for if we ever move home to Melbourne – or London, or New York…

From my scrapbook

When I first started this blog I intended for it to be a visual reference of my inspirations. I’ve been so caught up posting new images til now so today I thought I might post an old one from my image files. I can’t remember where this image came from – I think either Vogue Living or Belle – it’s about 5 years old, but I still love it just as much as when I first saw it. I think this is an example of how a neutral colour palette can work. I love the combination of the classic looking sofa (love that fabric too – have no idea where it comes from, so if anyone recognises it please let me know!), the trunk coffee table, vintage chair to the left, and that solid timber mirror. It’s a room I certainly wouldn’t mind coming home to each night.

Happy Friday!

Have a great weekend everyone. I’m wishing I could spend the weekend relaxing in a hammock just like this one, with a pile of magazines (surely the new Elle Decor is due out soon…) and a cup of tea.
